Early Childhood Screenings are required for all children before entering kindergarten in Minnesota Public Schools. Recommended screening age is between 3-4 years old. Central Public Schools provides free Early Childhood Screenings throughout the year. Screening is not an examination to determine readiness for school, but is used to screen for potential problems that may interfere with a child's ability to be successful. Early screening and intervention promotes early success and also connects families with early learning opportunities.
